Chinese influence on Indian kids programmes

It is amazing how in the last few years Indian TV has been influenced by Chinese TV. Doremon is an obvious example. Also advertisements seem to have been made for the Asian market are being used on Indian TV. When we were growing up in the 1970's and 1980's cheap Russian programmes were the norm on Doordarshan. We watched a silly games enacted with exaggeration. Now the Russians have been replaced by cheap Chinese replicas. It is also amazing that now there are over 1000 channels but still nothing intelligent or fun to watch. The movie Zindagi no milegi dobara has a good spoof on Doordarshan, with it's shenai playing logo. Doordarshan was all about Krishi Darshan, where they had farmers interviewed about which crops to plant. It was certainly the most boring show. The rest of the time it was mostly news in Hindi and English. The Hindi news was read by Salma Sultan and the English news was enunciated by Tejeshwar Singh, Rini Singh or Geetanjali Aiyer. The highlight of the week was Chitrahaar- a programme that had Hindi music videos.
